Dr. D. Yogi Goswami is a Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Clean Energy Research Center at the University of South Florida. He has over 40 years of experience in education, research, entrepreneurship and policy in the areas of clean and renewable energy, as well as air quality. Dr. Goswami is both an author and editor and has published 21 books within the field of renewable energy.
As an expert in renewable energy, Dr. Goswami has given testimonies on energy policy and the transition to renewable energy to the US Congress and various governments around the world. As the President of the International Solar Energy Society, Dr. Goswami developed a number of policy options for renewable energy for various governments globally.
During the course of his career, Dr. Goswami has served as the President of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), Governor of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)-International, Senior Vice President of ASME and President of the International Association for Solar Energy Education. Dr. Goswami also is a Fellow of ASME, ASES, ASHRAE, AAAS and the National Academy of Inventors.
Dr. Goswami is a recipient of numerous awards from many professional societies related to energy including the Karl Boer Medal for Solar Energy, Farrington Daniels Award from ISES, the Frank Kreith Energy award and medal from ASME, the John Yellott Award for Solar Energy from ASME and the Charles Greely Abbott award, and Hoyt Clark Hottel award of the ASES. He was inducted in the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame in 2016.
Dr. Goswami started research on Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) to break down air pollutants in 1995 in search of a cure for his son’s severe asthma and allergies. The process is similar to the principles of solar technology and gave him a unique advantage for his development. 20 years later, PCO has evolved to Photoelectrochemical Oxidation (PECO) and constitutes a fundamentally new approach to air purification. Dr. Goswami co-founded Molekule to commercialize his technology and make it available to the everyone.
