Allergy season isn’t a "season" anymore. It’s all the time.
Roughly 60 million Americans manage seasonal allergies. Almost all of them are treating half of where it comes from.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
Pollen arrives from outside on clothes, hair, pets, and open doors. Dust mite and pet allergens are produced indoors year-round.
Indoor air has no rain or wind to clear it, and most homes turn over less than one volume of air an hour.
A pollen count only covers whole grains outside. It’s a useful regional signal—not a reading of your house.
Antihistamines work on the reaction, but cleaning is key to clearing what’s settled in your home.
Most air purifiers have filters that capture and hold allergen proteins. Molecular destruction breaks them down.
THE PART NOBODY EXPLAINS
The air you can't see is doing this too.
Over 60 million Americans manage seasonal allergies. Almost all of them focus on what's outside. But the air inside their homes carries its own allergen load—dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and pollen that rides in on shoes and clothes—completely independent of what's happening outdoors.
Closing the windows keeps out one source. It does nothing about the sources that are already inside—refreshing every time the HVAC kicks on, every time the dog shakes off, every time someone walks in from outside.
The interesting part? It may not be what’s outside that’s intensifying your symptoms.
The allergens affecting you are actually coming from inside the house. Not what's outside.
Just like bacteria and particulate matter, allergens can hitch a ride on your person and enter your home unseen.
Pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and more easily attach themselves to just about any article of clothing or material. The moment you come in the door, they’re entering your home’s air circulation. And therein lies the problem.
Outdoors, rain pulls particles down and wind moves them along. A closed room has neither.
Your home has an air exchange rate, and most homes turn over less than one volume of air per hour. That’s simply not enough power to clear your home of everything that’s been tracked in or found its way through cracks in the facade.
The EPA has found that the average American spends 90% of their life indoors, where pollutants are 2–5x more concentrated than outdoors, and where there's no rain and wind to clear the pollen, dust, mold, and dander that trigger your allergies.
FOUR WAYS TO MITIGATE INDOOR ALLERGENS
Bedding: Use zippered allergen-proof covers on pillows and mattresses. Wash sheets weekly in hot water.
Humidity: Keep the house between 30 and 50 percent relative humidity. Dust mites need moisture to thrive, so too much moisture can be a bad thing.
Floors: Choose hard flooring over wall-to-wall carpet where you can. Vacuum with a sealed HEPA unit.
Bedrooms: Opt for fewer stuffed toys, fewer decorative pillows, fewer surfaces that hold dust.
The highest ROI move you can make is to invest in an air purifier that’s proven to destroy allergens.
Why a HEPA-only purifier may not be enough… or even what you think.
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. It’s a performance standard for filter media—not a technology, a brand, or a certification body.
In the US, the benchmark comes from the Department of Energy: a filter qualifies if it removes at least 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns.
That size was established as a benchmark because—while it’s not the smallest—it’s the hardest one to capture. Big particles get caught by impaction and interception; they physically run into fibers. Very small particles get caught by diffusion, because Brownian motion makes them wander into fibers instead of flowing past. Between those two mechanisms there’s a delta where neither works well, and it sits around 0.3 microns for typical media. That’s the most penetrating particle size.
This is great for capturing pollen, dust mites, hair, particulate matter, and debris around that size. But there are two things HEPA hasn’t solved for yet:
Capture is not necessarily cleaning: While the filter reduces the amount of particles in the air, it holds them in place until you replace the filter.
Capture does nothing against gases: Volatile organic compounds and odors slip through the fibers because they aren’t solids.
Capture is beneficial, but not a total solution. The particles move out of the air and onto the media, and the allergen proteins riding on them remain in the filter.
Beyond that, it can be hard to know which purifiers are actually HEPA-verified at 99.97%. Many brands are in hot water for using claims like "HEPA type," "HEPA like," or any array of marketing jargon.
Simply put, you need an air purifier that’s third-party tested, verified HEPA, and has technology that destroys gases.
The only technology proven to destroy allergens and pollutants.
Thus far, only one brand uses Photo Electrochemical Oxidation (PECO).
Air passes through a filter coated in a proprietary nanocatalyst. UV-A light activates the coating, which produces free radicals on the surface. Those break organic molecules apart where they touch them. Not just to capture them, but to destroy them.
PECO is a proprietary process Molekule has been working on for about thirty years, and it’s scientifically proven to destroy allergens, mold, viruses, bacteria, and chemicals. No ozone. No harmful byproducts.
In PECOAir+ purifiers, it runs inside one assembly called PECO-HEPA Advanced. Activated carbon neutralizes gases and household odors. HEPA captures particles at 99.97%. PECO handles what the other two can only hold onto.
Carbon: Neutralizes gases and household odors
HEPA: Captures particles at 99.97%
PECO: Destroys what the other two can only hold onto
A new era of allergies deserves a new era of air purification.
Enter: PECOAir and PECOAir+ (coming soon).
Molekule has been busy designing, testing, and innovating on a new family of purifiers that combine PECO-HEPA Advanced technology with data-driven analytics. The result is a line of devices that go where no air purifiers have gone before.
Whisper-quiet power: A fan system that’s as quiet as it is powerful—a difference that’s felt before it’s heard.
Next-gen PECO: The most advanced generation of PECO technology yet, able to reduce formaldehyde, toluene, benzene, and more.
This is your chance to experience it first.
