Changing the PECO-Filter in your air purifier is simple. First, turn off and unplug the device. Then, locate the filter’s access panel. This is usually situated on the back or side of the unit depending on the model. Carefully remove the old one by pulling it straight out of the product and dispose of it properly. Next, take the new PECO-Filter out of its packaging and remove the protective plastic covering. Align it so the arrow on the filter aligns with the arrow on the device. Gently slide it in place until it clicks securely. Once completed, close the access panel, plug the purifier back in, and turn it on.

On average, you should replace the PECO-Filter every six months to ensure optimal performance. However, you may want to replace it more frequently if your home has high levels of air pollutants or you run the air purifier continuously. The Molekule Air purifier has an indicator light that will notify you when it’s time to replace the filter. To make it easier on yourself, you can also take advantage of Molekule’s auto-refill plan to automatically receive a shipment of two Pre-Filters and one PECO-Filter every six months.

The Air PECO-Filter Replacement is only compatible with the Molekule Air, not other models, and cannot be used with other air purifier brands. The Air has been discontinued, and the filter replacements are only compatible with Air products that are currently in distribution.

While pre-filters are not necessary for all Molekule air purifiers, they can be beneficial for some models as they can extend their lifetime. The Air Mini+ and Air Mini, include a pre-filter as part of their filtration system, while others, such as the Air Pro, do not require one. Consult the user manual for your device for more information.

The pre-filter should typically be replaced every three months. However, the frequency of replacement may vary depending on usage and your environment’s air quality. It's important to check the pre-filter regularly and replace it when it becomes visibly dirty or discolored. You can even take advantage of Molekule’s filter auto-refill plan to receive two Pre-Filters and one PECO-Filter every six months.

Molekule's Air Pre-Filter Replacement is made to capture larger particles, such as dust and pet hair, before they can reach the main filter in your air purifier. Molekule's Air Pre-Filters are manufactured specifically for the original Molekule Air purifier and are not compatible with other products. Using an incompatible product may reduce performance or damage your device.
